Alex is the founder of Gore Street Capital. He previously was a Managing Director and Head of Europe for Paladin Capital, a Senior Advisor to Kleinwort Benson Bank in London, and served on the Investment Committee of IndoChina Capital. From 2006 to 2013, he was Head of Investments for Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s USD15 Billion SWF. He is also a trustee of the London Irish Centre, a UNICEF Advisor, a visiting researcher to the Energy Policy Group in Cambridge University, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and the Vice Chair of the board of the Biomimicry Institute. Alex is a regular speaker on venture capital and private equity, and is recognised as a global leader in the field of renewable investing.

Sumi led Renewable Energy transactions as Managing Director of Kleinwort Benson. Previously, he was MD of RHJ International SA in Tokyo (parent company of Kleinwort Benson) responsible for PE investment management for over $1B of AuM. He has also worked in Debt Capital Markets at JP Morgan and prior to that, at McKinsey & Company.

John-Michael is a Principal in the investment team at Gore Street and joined the firm in 2019, having previously held corporate finance and M&A positions at Nomura, Kleinwort Benson and Société Générale. John-Michael holds a BA / MA from Cambridge University.

Paula’s expertise is in merger and acquisitions with her previous job at the Arab Banking Corporation in Sao Paulo-Brazil, focusing mainly on mid-sized Companies transactions. During her experience in M&A, she covered sectors such as retail, food and beverage, manufacturing and consumer goods. Before her ABC role, Paula worked for Ernst & Young in the Transaction Advisory Service department. Paula has a MBA from London Business School and BS in Business Management from Ibmec Business School in Sao Paulo.
Legal Counsel
Rory joined Gore Street Capital as Legal Counsel in the investment team in February 2023 following nine years at international law firm Slaughter and May, where he trained and specialised in energy and infrastructure projects. Rory holds a BA from Durham University, an MA from Oxford University, and GDL and LPC qualifications from BPP law school.
Investment Manager
Rutwij has worked in corporate banking at Ahli Bank in Oman as well as at the treasury at Essar in Bombay, giving him a unique perspective into the energy sector. He has previously worked in Clarence Bridge Capital in the tech space. In addition, Rutwij is a CFA level 2 candidate with a computer engineering background from National Institute of Technology Karnataka and has a Masters in Management from London Business School.
Investment Associate
After joining as an intern on the Deals Team in 2019, Will graduated in Economics from Bristol University and returned to Gore Street as a member of the Investment Team. His background in both public and private sector firms, notably the Central Bank of Ireland and JM Finn IM, alongside his completion of the CAIA Level 1 and FMVA qualifications, has given him a broad understanding of the financial markets, with a specific focus on the renewable energy sector. As a Senior Analyst at Gore Street, Will dedicates his time to international pipeline deals, portfolio valuations and quarterly reporting.
Investment Analyst
Aman contributes to the screening and execution of new investments and the upkeep of Gore Street’s portfolio valuations across its UK investments. Aman previously worked at Societe Generale CIB in the Energy and Offshore advisory and lending division, with a focus on renewables and the energy transition within the maritime industry. He holds a double Masters from EDHEC Business School in accounting and finance and in management, which he completed following completion of a BA in Petroleum Engineering from UPES.
Investment Analyst
As an Investment Analyst, Ecenur contributes to the screening and execution of investments, and the upkeep of Gore Street’s portfolio valuations across its US and Ireland investments. Her previous experience was in sustainability growth equity across Europe and APAC with a focus on clean energy, sustainable food, and responsible consumption. She holds a BA in Business Management from Durham University and an MSc in Accounting and Finance from London School of Economics.
Principal
Alicja is a Project Manager leading the technical delivery and management of the operational and under construction storage sites. She worked as a Lead Storage Engineer at Origami Energy, where she successfully developed and led to a financial close a pipeline of 19MW energy storage projects. Formerly she was an energy storage engineer at RES UK & Ireland where she led the product development and sourcing of power conversion systems for a combined 80MW of RES’s EFR and EPC energy storage systems. She holds two Masters in Power Systems Engineering and Renewable Energy Technology from Cranfield University.
Commercial Associate
Michael is part of the commercial team. Prior to joining Gore Street he was a senior research analyst with S&P Global for 4 years focusing on energy storage as part of the clean energy technology team and has over 8 years experience in the energy sector. Michael holds a Bachelor of Engineering in chemical engineering from Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom, and a Master of Science in renewable energy from Newcastle University, United Kingdom.
Commercial Associate
Carlos has 7 years of experience in the energy markets. In his previous role at Mytilineos RSD he focused on solar PV and battery storage transactions across Europe, Australia, and Chile. Carlos started his career in energy trading as an analyst covering the European power markets in EDF Trading before later moving to structure hedging and PPA contracts in Arraco Global Markets. He holds a BSc in Mining Engineering, specialising in Natural Resources from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain, and an MSc in Energy Engineering from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain, and RWTH Aachen, Germany.
Junior Commercial Associate
Michael is a Junior Commercial Associate working on the financing, operations, and delivery of large-scale energy storage systems in the UK and Ireland. He has a wide range of internship experiences from both energy and management consulting companies that ultimately solidified his interests and passion for renewable energy. As a result, Michael pursued an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures at Imperial College London that enriched him with the knowledge and skills to take on future challenges.
Junior Commercial Associate
Thomas joined Gore Street at the end of 2021 as a Commercial Analyst. In this role, he works closely with stakeholders on the operational performance of grid-scale energy storage systems. Prior to this, Thomas had joined as a summer intern, whilst finishing his Master’s in Climate Finance at the Imperial College Business School. Thomas also holds a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, completing internships in renewable energy and sustainability during his studies.
Head of Asset Performance
Daniel is Asset Manager for Gore Street Capital, where he manages the Gore Street Energy Storage Fund’s operational portfolio. He is primarily responsible for interfacing with operations and maintenance teams to ensure fleet availability, whilst working closely with route-to-market providers to optimise each project’s revenue structure. Daniel feeds this experience up to a fleet level, where he assesses technical proposals for the company’s pipeline as well as selection of preferred partners for project services. The Fund is currently one of the largest owners of battery energy storage systems on the UK network, with 210MW of operational assets and a strong pipeline of projects both at home and abroad.
Asset Manager
Dan joined Gore Street Capital in July 2022 as Asset Manager, where he is responsible for Gore Street's European projects.
Dan has over a decade of experience in power generation activities, working hands on with a diverse number of technologies including traditional generation, renewables, and energy storage. Before Gore Street, Dan worked for one of the UK's largest privately owned generators of renewable energies where he was responsible for Operation and Maintenance of c.480MW of generation assets. He later worked on supporting business optimisation and performance projects.
A time served engineer, Dan holds both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering qualifications and helps support the technical projects within Gore Street Capital.
Junior Asset Manager
David is a Junior Asset Manager responsible for assessing the performance of Gore Street Energy Storage Fund's assets. His key responsibilities involve liaising with O&M and asset managers to ensure fleet availability, maximise revenue, and maintain relationships with project stakeholders and OEM suppliers.
He formerly worked in the energy storage industry for Anesco's O&M department, where he was a performance monitoring analyst and technical associate, overseeing a portfolio of 180MW of energy storage systems.
David holds a Master's in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University.
Head of Project Development
Richard has 15 years of experience in the construction sector, with the last 12 spent in renewable energy. At Gore Street, he leads the team, managing development and construction activities. Previously, working with the developer RES, he built wind farms and energy storage facilities across Europe and contributed to development activities globally. Richard holds a master’s degree in civil and structural engineering from the University of Leeds.
Project Manager - US
Matt is a Project Manager leading the delivery of Gore Street’s new construction projects in the United States. Prior to joining Gore Street, Matt was a Project Manager for Fluence Energy, managing EPC BESS projects ranging in size from 240MWh to 400MWh. He spent an extensive amount of time in the field to better understand the complexities associated with the design, construction, and commissioning of battery storage systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University.
Project Manager - Ireland
Rob joined Gore Street Capital in March 2023 as a project manager leading the construction of battery storage sites in UK and Ireland and brings 12 years of experience in the construction of large renewable energy solutions into the company. He holds a degree in civil engineering from Atlantic Technological University Sligo and is a Chartered Engineer (CEng MIEI) with Engineers Ireland.
Project Manager - US
Cesar leads the delivery of new construction projects under management in the United States. Prior to joining Gore Street, Cesar was an Associate Project Manager for EDF Renewables North America, implementing new renewable energy and storage projects across the US. He holds a BSc in Renewable Energy from Texas Tech University and is an MBA candidate at West Texas A&M University.
Legal Director
Aniela is a senior executive with over 2 decades of international legal and compliance experience in the energy sector. Aniela had previous leadership roles with Siemens and Siemens Gamesa where she was the first woman General Counsel in Europe and recognised as one of the leading lawyers in the renewable industry. Aniela has two legal degrees (English and Romanian) and she is using her heritage and experience to prompt and support various diversity & inclusion initiatives and also champion change in the legal profession. Aniela also studied European Law at King’s College and is a Saiid Oxford Business School alumna. She was shortlisted for the Woman of the Year at the Law Society Excellence Awards 2019 and the Innovative leader and In-House leader of the year awards at Women, Influence & Power 2021 and 2022. Aniela is also an ambassador of Powerful Women and a mentor with InterLaw Diversity Forum.
Risk Officer
Lorenzo has more than 20 years of experience in Corporate and Investment banking gained in London, Milan, Luxembourg, Singapore and Stockholm.
He has been appointed to numerous senior risk management and compliance roles for various international financial firms such as BBVA, BOFA, Rabobank, JP Morgan, Jefferies Bache. Lorenzo has a Master Degree in Economics.
Company Secretary
Benjamin is a Charted Company Secretary and a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute. For the last ten years, Benjamin has provided governance advice to the Boards of Directors of listed companies. Most recently he worked at Schroders, where he focused on listed investment trusts, and advised the Board of an PRA/FCA-regulated company. Previously Benjamin worked as a lawyer. Benjamin is also a solicitor (currently non-practising) and has a BSC in biology, and an LLB and LLM in law. He is a trustee of the charitable trust of the Worshipful Company of Charted Secretaries and Administrators.
Compliance Officer
Jessica joined Gore Street Capital in 2023 from Hambro Perks, where she served as Head of Compliance.
She spent her early career at State Street Bank and BCP Asset Management before working in-house for family offices in Europe and Asia, where she was responsible for establishing compliance functions and key organisational processes.
Jess holds a Level Six Diploma in Regulation and Compliance from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
Paralegal
Nefeli joined Gore Street Capital in August 2022 as a Paralegal. In this role, she assists the Legal Director on various corporate, construction and daily operations issues. Nefeli graduated from the University of Cambridge in July 2022 and holds a BA degree in Law, with First Class Honours on her Human Rights dissertation. In her spare time, Nefeli engages in pro-bono work and has contributed to projects organised by Amicus ALJ, the Oxbridge Human Development Group and the Cambridge University Pro Bono Society
Corporate Paralegal
Tanya joined Gore Street Capital in the summer of 2022, as a Compliance Paralegal. Tanya has more than three years of experience in corporate law, construction litigation and compliance. She has previously worked as Corporate Paralegal in a world-leading ICT corporate before joining GSC. Tanya holds a BBA in Global Supply Chain Management from Hong Kong and a Graduate Diploma in Law in the UK.

Michael is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with 6 years of experience working at Deloitte within Audit and Assurance, serving Financial Services clients with a focus on investment managers and globally recognised large private equity funds. In addition, he is a CFA level III candidate and holds the designation of Financial Modelling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA) through the Corporate Finance Institute.

Nilly joined Gore Street Capital in November 2022 as a Fund Accountant.
She is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with four years of experience working at Deloitte UK within audit and assurance, where her primary focus was on private equity clients and investment managers.

Scott is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with five years of experience working at Rees Pollock, where he specialised in audits of investment managers, private equity funds and renewable energy SPVs.
Prior to joining Gore Street Capital in 2023, where he focuses on the US portfolio, Scott worked as a fund accountant for a pan-Africa focused private equity firm and was responsible for preparing and maintaining financials for several funds with assets under management of c.$3bn.

Arti joined Gore Street Capital in March 2023, bringing over 15 years' experience in accounts payable to the finance team. Arti previously worked at insurance firm Canopius, where she implemented a new system to bring outsourced accounts payable services in-house and improve efficiency. Arti holds a degree in business management from Middlesex University.

Setara completed her studies in Banking & Finance at Middlesex University in 2019. She took an interest to work in the finance sector when she had the opportunity to work as a Finance Intern at GSA and Vitality. She went on to work at Teneo as a Finance Assistant for a year and a half before progressing into her current role.

Samira joined the team as a Document Manager, being responsible for the development of data and information systems. Samira has previously worked as a Document Controller for a Multidisciplinary Engineering Design Consultancy working on both private and public sector projects locally (UK) and internationally (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Europe).

Anja previously worked as a sustainability specialist, providing research and analysis on climate change, environmental policy and the green energy transition.

Prior to this, David worked as a trade journalist covering solar, energy storage, e-mobility and grid management, with a focus on the UK and some European markets.

Piers is an investor who backs entrepreneurs with the capability to disrupt financial markets in new ways. A founder-investor at Gore Street Capital, he is drawn to businesses that blend strong, scalable commercial models with the ability to impact the world positively, especially in the renewable energy space. Having started his career as a broker in London and New York, he has headed up his family’s private investment office since 2004. He holds a Masters in Finance from London Business School

Frank is the Director of the EU-GCC Clean Energy Network which fosters clean energy partnerships between EU and GCC energy stakeholders. He was the Deputy Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Previously he led the implementation of electricity projects worth more than $3 billion at Abu Dhabi’s government-owned low-emissions project, Masdar.

David Reiner is Associate Professor of Technology Policy and Assistant Director of the Energy Policy Research Group at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. His research focuses on the policy, economics, and regulation of energy and climate change. He serves on various UK Government and European Commission expert panels such as the Advisory Board of the UKRI £200m Industrial Decarbonisation Challenge (IDC). David has received research grants from UK Research and Innovation and the European Commission on topics ranging from residential heat to carbon dioxide removal.

Anusuya is a board-level risk and compliance executive with over 25 years of experience across three sub-continents in banking, regulation, operational risk and compliance.
She spent 14 years pioneering and then running the operational risk and compliance function within the real estate and infrastructure department at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds.
Prior to that, she was a lead regulator at the Financial Services Authority in the UK (now subsumed by the Bank of England) supervising banks, building societies and credit unions, including in relation to cross-border takeovers, Basel II applications and e-money.
She started her career in the RHB Financial Group in Malaysia, working on e-business regulation and compliance, after several years managing over 200 multi-national client accounts.
She holds an LLB in Law and an MBA from the University of Aberystwyth, UK.
Senior Advisor
Dan is a private equity and venture capitalist. Previously, he was the CEO of Fortress Investment Group, a global asset management firm with over US$50 billion invested in private equity, credit, and hedge funds. Under his leadership, Fortress expanded its base to Asia and the Middle East, acquired new business, eliminated corporate debt while restoring shareholder dividends. Prior to Fortress, Dan was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Fannie Mae, the USA’s largest mortgage investor.

Vincent has been active in the energy space for nearly three decades both on the ‘buy-side’ as a fund manager and on the sell-side as a top-rated analyst and senior banker. From 2006 to 2010, he was a partner of UBS Global Infrastructure Fund and the CIO of the InvestAD-UBS fund in Abu Dhabi. He is currently the CIO of Clim8Invest, a new clean energy investment platform, and a member of the Supervisory Board of Cambridge Energy Partners. He is also involved with the EU Innovation Fund as an external advisor and expert.
Senior Advisor
Jay Troger is an experienced venture capital and private equity portfolio company CEO. Most recently, Jay served as CEO of Mopec Group, where he led a turnaround resulting in a tripling of revenues and a twenty-fold increase in EBITDA. Jay has led multiple renewable energy companies, and is passionate about their importance to society. Earlier in his career, Jay was a partner at the strategy consulting firm Bain & Company. Jay holds a bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a law degree from Boston University School of Law.

Head of Impact
Anna leads the firm’s impact agenda. Her career spans the public and private sector, focused on health, sustainability and strategic philanthropy. She is currently an advisor to HK-based RS Group, a leading impact investor. Previously as a senior advisor to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, she supported the foundation’s advocacy and fundraising activities. Anna is also on the board of a number of NGOs including Project Soar, Election Reform Network and International Bridges to Justice.
